VENICE MEETS CUCCHI

19 ottobre – 19 novembre 2023

From 19 October to 19 November 2023, the Galleria Antonio Verolino in Modena will host the sixth edition of Venice Time Case, a project conceived by Luca Massimo Barbero. Fifty works by as many emerging contemporary artists from the Venice area will arrive in Modena in five Fly Case suitcases after travelling between Milan, Paris, Rome, Padua and Trento.
On this special occasion, an unpublished tapestry by Enzo Cucchi (1949) will be exhibited for the first time in a kind of intergenerational dialogue with the artists of the Venice Time Case project.
Venice Time Case is a “place” on the move, where artists, often associated with the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, working in groups, in shared studios, with collective or isolated experiences, can meet and find each other.
The selected artists were each invited to create their own work, a vision to be enclosed as in a cage or to be protected as a delicate object. The works, all in the same format, created on the same medium, relate symbiotically to the Instagram format, where the project originated as what would once have been considered an exhibition. It is an idea born to make the ‘hidden vitality of art in the wide city between land and sea’ speak in an international context.
